J Street Congressional Delegation Here

Spotted at the King David Hotel this morning were members of J Street's "Congressional Delegation and Women’s Leadership Mission - Israel and the Palestinian Territory" (in the UN, that's "Occupied Palestinian Territories").

The delegation details:

The J Street Education Fund, Women Donors Network, and national lay leaders are on a mission to Israel and the Palestinian Territory with Members of Congress in attendance. They'll be traveling

"to the heart of the Middle East to gain an inside view into the urgency of a two-state solution and a more complex understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Meet with women leaders in the region and participate in a delegation to transform the status quo and promote women’s political power and participation in advancing a two-state solution.

HIGHLIGHTS:
•High-level meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials and a range of leaders in civil society.
•Conversations with women leaders in government, human rights, women’s rights, education, and business.
•Overnight stays and sight-seeing in Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.
•Visits to key political and historic areas of interest, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Gaza-border region, Hebron, and Ramallah.
•In-depth tours focusing on the complexities surrounding the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Day trips to the flashpoint neighborhoods of Sheik Jarrah, Silwan, and the West Bank settlements surrounding Jerusalem.

GOALS:
•Enrich American political discourse by increasing the number of Congresswomen with the knowledge and skills to promote bold U.S. leadership in the region.
•Build a cadre of women leaders who are energized, equipped and well positioned to educate their communities and advocate for an urgent two-state resolution of the conflict.
•Forge relationships with Israeli and Palestinian women working to achieve a resolution of the conflict.
•Increase and deepen the expertise of women in the top ranks of lay and professional leadership in American politics, Jewish communal life, the foreign policy community, and business.
•Understand and impact the discussion on Israel in the American-Jewish community and in US Politics."

By the way, the cost is around $5,500.

Anyone know which Jewish communities they'll be visiting?
